Fun flute tunes: strathspeys

For the next few weeks, the advanced class of the Fun Flute group in Portobello will focus on a set of strathspeys.

Taking a cue from those attending the class who requested session-friendly tunes that are also interesting, we will be looking at Captain Campbell and The Smith’s a Gallant Fireman.

These well-known strathspeys sit nicely on the flute and whistle. I have put up MP3s of them on The Flow and sheet music will follow.

Future classes will also look at adding a reel or two to this set.
